Redbirds Soccer
A note from Coach Mounicot:
The tradition and success of the McGill University men's soccer program is unprecedented in the Quebec conference with three national championships and 33 conference titles over the years. This winning tradition was built by the outstanding and skilled individuals who have played, coached and supported the team throughout the decades, some of which include outstanding league All Stars and All Canadians.
In order for our winning tradition to continue, we must recruit and support the best student-athletes from across the country, overseas and the USA and provide them with an outstanding experience both academically and athletically. This support will provide an opportunity for these young student-athletes to compete for, and win provincial and national championships.
By supporting our program in various ways, you can help ensure that our program and team will be able to compete against the best teams in the country but also expose our vision and philosophy to soccer communities across Canada and overseas. At the same time, you can be a part of our Redbirds Soccer program and share in the pride of continuing our winning tradition by helping these young and talented individuals as they pass on the McGill torch for years to come.
Thank you,
Marc
Our Fundraising Priorities
- Athletic Financial Awards - $25,000
One of our most important priorities is to have more resources in AFA as we will need an extra $25,000 per year to cover 70% of our students, hoping to give out approximately 18 partial scholarships per season on a 25-player roster
- Locker Room Update - $100,000
In conjunction with Martlets Soccer, we would like to build new team rooms. Our soccer teams often find themselves having to clear their space in order to accommodate the CFL football games. New team rooms would secure permanent winter facilities for our soccer teams within our Sport Complex
- Equipment and Travel - $55,000
We are also looking to enhance our equipment budget by $10,000 and secure some additional funding that enables program travel to a foreign country every 3-4 years ($10,000/year), so each athlete in our program can live a cultural and athletic experience. Additional resources will help with funding in our pre-season travels and overall meal expenses ($5,000)
